RUAHINE LEAVES COLON. News by cable has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Co. that their liner Ruahine arrived at Panama, aud left Colon on Friday, bound from Wellington to Southampton and Londou. The vessel sailed from Wellington on February 4. THE SYDNEY BOAT. The Union Co.’s intercolonial passenger steamer Maungauui arrived in the stream at Wellington shortly after 8 o’clock yesterday morning from Sydney direct. Pratique was granted, and the ship berthed at No. 1 north (outer tee) Queen’s Wharf at 9.40 a.m. The Mauuganui sailed from Sydney at 3 p.m. on Friday, and until .Monday morning experienced fair to moderate weather. .Strong south-easterly winds; rain and rough seas prevailed thence until nearing port. The vessel is to sail from Wellington on Friday afternoon on the return trip to Sydney. ARAWA FURTHER DELAYED. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co. advise that their liner Arawa lias been further delayed at Napier by bad weather. She Is nmv timed to leave Napier to-day for Waikokopu aud Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on Saturday, and is now limed to sail finally from this port at 5 p.m. next Wednesday for Southampton and London, via Panama. SOMERSET LEAVES COLON. Cabled news has been received by the Federal Co. that the Somerset arrived at Colon on Friday from Liverpool, and sailed again on Friday afternoon for New Zealand ports. She is due at Auckland on March 19, and at Wellington a week later. PORT BOWEN DELAYED. Owing to bad weather, the C. and D. Line steamer Port Bowen put to sea Irom Gisborne yesterday, thus delaying her loading. She cannot leave Gisborne before to-night for Napier. RUAPEHU FROM HOME. Due at Wellington this morning from Londou and Southampton, the New Zealand Shipping Co.’s liner Ruapehu will berth at the King’s Wharf after pratique has been granted. Groy, the latter being transferred to the Kamo, relieving Captain Hackworth, who has come ashore ill. Mr. J. Warcup has signed on the Kamona as chief officer, relieving Mr. T. A. McPherson, who has joined the Kamo, relieving Mr. W. Johnson. VANCOUVER MAIL STEAMERS. The Adrangi, which left Auckland on February 14, is due at Vancouver on Friday next. The Niagara left Auckland at 3 p.m. yesterday for Sydney, where she is due on Saturday next. SAN FRANCISCO MAIL STEAMERS. The Makura. from San Francisco, is due at Papeete on Saturday next, at Rarotonga on March 6, and at Wellington on March 12, and she will proceed thence to Sydney. , ~, The Tahiti, from Sydney, Ifet Wellington at 3.15 p.m. yesterday for Rarotonga, Papeete, and San Francisco. She is due at Riirotnoga on Saturday next.
ISLANDS STEAMERS. The Tofua, from Auckland, is due at Suva to-morrow, and will sail on Friday for Levnka and Nukualofa. The Waipahl, from Sydney, will clear Suva on Friday next with a fruit cargo for Auckland, where she is due on March 7. TRANS-PACIFIC CARGO STEAMERS. The Wnikawa, from Pacific Coast, via Papeete, will clear Napier on Friday lor Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, Nelson. New Plymouth, Westport, and Auckland, and will go thence to Honolulu and Vancouver. , T The Waitemata. which left Los Angeles on February 14 for Apia, Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney, is due at Apia on Friday next, and at Auckland on March 11. The Wairunn, from Newcastle, left Suva on February 24 for Vancouver and San Francisco, and was due at Vancouver on March 17. , The Hauraki, from Pacific Coast, via Auckland, will sail from Wellington today for Sydney. Melbourne, and Adelaide, and Is due at "Sydney on Monday next. The Waiotapu, from Sydney, left Newcastle yesterdav for Vancouver and San Francisco, via Fiji and Fanning Island. She is due at Suva on March 6. _ The Waihemo, from Auckland, arrived at Vancouver on February 23, and is expected to clear Ocean Falls to-morrow for San Francisco direct to complete loading for Auckland, Wellington, New Plymouth, Melbourne, and Sydney. TAMAROA AT SOUTHAMPTON. Gabled news has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company. Unit their liner Tamaroa arrived at Southampton on Monday morning from Auckland, via Panama. The vessel sailed from Auckland on January 21. THE MIDDLESEX. The Middlesex arrived at Picton yesterday afternoon from New Plymouth, for further loading. She will leave Picton to-morrow for Wanganui roadstead and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on Sunday. PORT DENISON AT LONDON. Cabled advice has been received by the C. and D. Line that the Port Denison arrived at London on Sunday morning from Port Chalmers, via Panama, blie left the Otago port ou January 11. ASHBURTON AT AUCKLAND. An arrival at Auckland shortly after 11 o’clock on Monday morning wan the American and Australian Lines chartered motor-ship Ashburton, with cargo from New York, via Suva. The Ashburton loaded at Manchester 2000 tons of pipes for the new water supply system of Port Lincoln (Australia), and then proceeded *o New York, where case oil Slid further general cargo was taken on. The weather experienced across the Pacific was mainly fine, and the Ashburton made good progress till Sunday, when her steering-gear broke down, and a slight delay was cau-cd during repair operations. The vessel, a sister ship oi the Atlioll. well known on the New Zealand coast, visited New Zealand 13 months ago as the Yomah. , Captain A. A wireless message received yesterday bv the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company from the Mahana. en route from Newcastle. stated that Hie vessel would anno at Gisborne at 13 o clock last night. After part loading the Mahana will leave Gisborne to-morrow for Napier. ANGLO COLOMBIAN TO LOAD. Under charter to Messrs Geo. H. Scales, Ltd., the steamer Anglo Colombian arrived in the stream at Wellington at 8.15 a.m. yesterday from Port Pirie, to load for Dunkirk, England, and Antwerp. The ship was granted pratique, hut will not berth until to-morrow to take in KOO tons of bunker coal and to commence her loading. Captain D. W. Oavies reported that the Anglo Colombian left Port Pirie last Sunday week, and had fair weather until olf Stephen Island, when she encountered a south-south-easterly gale, with heavy sens and th ck mistv rain.
