HEARNE’S BKONCHIVS CURE

Some alarm was caused among women bathers at Corsair Bay one afternoon recently (says the Christchurch "Press”), when it was reported that a man iu bathing costume had been seen entering one of the women's dressing sheds. The custodian at the bay was informed, and at first there was some doubt as to whether he or his wife should go and investigate. Eventually the custodian' took up a position outside the shed to waylay the intruder when he emerged, while quite a crowd of women gathered to await events. They had not long to wait, for presently a well-dressed young girl, of rather masculine build, with close-cropped hair, stepped from the dressing shed. Her general appearance, and the fact that she carried a man's bathing costume which she had been using, explained the mistake.
