SYLLABUS REVISION
« DIVERGENT VIEWS The Curricula and Syllabus Revision Committee, which commenced the final sitting on Tuesday, finished the general session last evening, leaving to a revising sub-committee the task of subediting and preparing the report for submission to the Minister of Education. It was made evident that some members of the committee intended to present their views in a minority report, as they were unable to subscribe to the views held by the majority. After working for fourteen months, the committee have prepared a very interesting series of recommendations. Prior to the midday adjournment yesterday the Minister of Education (Hon. R. A. Wright) addressed the members of the committee and thanked them for their labours. Mr. T. B. Strong (Director of Education) also expressed his appreciation. Before disbanding due acknowledgment was made of the splendid service rendered by the chairman (Professor R. Lawson, of Otago) and Messrs. B. T. Blake and E. J. Purchase, who had acted as honorary secretaries.
