TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCF Rugby, February 20. Sir Austen Chamberlain has addressed the following telegram to. M. VoJdemaras, Lithuanian Prime Minister: ‘ On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Lithuanian independence I have pleasure in offering you, on behalf of His Majesty's Government, their sincere congratulations on the progress, achieved by vour country and their best wishes for its increasing prosperity and peaceful development.” M. Voldemnras has replied as follows: “Deeply affected by congratulations which Your Excellency has sent to ‘me on behalf of His Majesty’s Government on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Lithuanian independence. The Lithuanian nation and Government gratefully remember the constant friendly support given to them by His Majesty’s Government to assure independence of Lithuania, the existence of which is necessary for the maintenance of the general peace and the promotion of prosperity in Eastern Europe.”— British Official Wireless.
