February 25, 12.5 a.m.) Sydney, February 24. Anxiety is felt regarding the whereabouts of Hinkler. At 9.15 this morning he passed Katherine, where he dropped a message—“ Good-bye, Katherine; see you again.” Hinkler was expected to reach Cloncurry. not Camooweal, as previously stated, before dark, but since lie passed Katherine nothing has been heard of him. It is feared he may have met trouble or have been compelled to land while flying over the wide, difficult and sparsely-peopled country between Darwin and Cloncurry.
