LAWN TENNIS
BOUSSUS BEATS McINNES (Rec. February 25, 12.5 a.m.) Melbourne. February 24. In a series of tennis matches played at Melbourne, C. Boussus (France) defeated I. Mclnnes, 6—4, B—6. Play in the first set was disappointing, both players being over-cautious. The second set showed better tennis. McInnes led 3—l, but Boussus’s service gradually gave him the advantage. In an exhibition mixed doubles J. Borotra (France) and Miss Boyd defeated J. IL Hawkes and Mrs. O’Hara Wood 3—6, 7—5, 6—4. The match was one of sparkling tennis, Hawkes playing grandly. Borotra’s superb play dominated the last few games.
