ROWING REGATTA TO-DAY

f ! A great deal of interest i.s being taken in the Wellington Regatta, which is to be held to-day. There are eleven events on the programme, the first race being scheduled to start at 12.30 p.m. Alto- ' gether 179 oarsmen will be competing, the following clubs being represented: Star (Wellington), Petone, Wellington, 1 Avon (Christchurch), Sumner-Redcliffs, Canterbury, Waicau, Blenheim, Union Boating Club (Wanganui), Taurauga, and Wanganui. The selectors for the Olympic Eight will bo present at the regatta. Should the wind be from tho south the Oriental Bay course will be used, all races finishing at the Taranaki Street Wharf. In the event, of northerly weather, races will be re-wed on the Koro Koro course, the finish of which is about half a mile below the Petone railway crossing. DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS. Wanganui, February 24. The following entries have been received for the New Zealand Rowing Championship Regatta on the Wtinganui River on Saturday, March 3:— Champion single sculls: Otago (Brotmli), North Shoie (Davies), Wanganui (Dyke), Taurauga (Turner), Hamilton (St. Clair and Molesworth), Union, Wanganui (Jackson and Trail).
