MEDICAL DINNER
By Telegraph.—Pbess association. Hamilton, February 24. The annual dinner of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical As. soel.ition was held last evening, the president, Dr. H. Douglas, occupying the 'chair. The Hon. J. A. Young (Minister of Health), and Dr. T. H. A. Valintine (Director-General of Health), were present. A presentation of a silver-mounted inkstand was made to Mr. V. Bonney ns representing the British Medical Association. The stand, which is a gift from the Now Zealand Medical Association, is to be used in the new offices of Um parent body in London. A chairman’s mallet, n gift from the English Obstetrical Society, was presented to Dr. W. Trvini, president of the newly-formed New Zealand Obstetrical Society, by Mr. Bonney. CONFERENCE BUSINESS'. By TELEGBAPn.— Press Association. Hamilton, February 24. The conference ot tho New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association was continued at Hamilton to-day, when important papers were read. Tomorrow the visitors will, after visiting Arapuni. entrain for Rotorua, where the concluding meetings will be held. The New Zealand Obstetrical Society held a full meeting, Dr. Kiley, of Dunedin, being elected patron, Dr. Irving president, and Dr Curkill, of Wellington, vice-presidr-nt. Dr. ,1. S. Elliott, of Wellington, was selected as president elect of the New Zealand branch of tho British Medical Association, and he will be inducted at the. annual meeting at Wellington next February. He was reappointed editor of the “New Zealand Medical Journal.”
