AMERICAN SHIPPING AGREEMENT
CARGO FOR AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND
Washington, February 22. The Shipping Board has approved of an agreement between the American, Australia and Orient, the Dollar, the Luckcnbach and Allan, and the American Pacific steamship lines, providing for the handling of through shipments from the Atlantic Coast ports to Australia and New Zeaalnd, the through rate to be apportioned equally between the intercoastal carrier and American, Australia and Orient lines. The cost of transhipment at San Francisco or Los Angeles will, it is assumed, be in equal proportions.
