HUTT ROAD PIER

WORK ON FOUNDATION BEGUN A start was made by the Public Works Department on Wednesday with the construction of the much-discussed railway pier over the Hutt Road, between'Kiawarra and Ngahauranga. A fence has been erected round the spot to protect the workmen engaged in the excavation work and to keep the lines of.traffic in and out of the city apart. A large “danger” notice has been erected on either side of the pier site, warning motoring public of the obstruction.:
