FARMING INTERESTS SYDNEY WOOL SALES EXTREME PRICES REALISED RECORD PRICE FOR LAMBS’ WOOL Sydney, February 22. The Sydney wool sites reproduced all the best features of the recent auctions. Comebacks and crossbreds continue to realise extreme prices. Greasy Merino sold to 36Jd., crossbred to 30d- comeback lambs 25d. The last-named is the highest for the season. THE WOOL CLIP RECORD PRICES OBTAINED DOMINION’S PROSPERITY Dominion Special Service. Auckland, February 23. "The two wool sales this year in Auckland have been phenomenal," said Mr. B. J. Marquet, chairman of the Auckland Woolbrokers’ Association. He added that there had never been better, apart from tho boom sale of December, 1924, when the catalogue averaged 21d. per lb. Mr. Marquet and others in the wool trade agree that prices received for the clip in the cluckland province this season will probably show an advance of £6 10s. per bale over last year’s prices. Spread over the Dominion as a whole, the increase will probably bo about £5 per bale. The average in Auckland last year was £l6 10s. per bale. For the first sale this season the average was £22 per bale, and fot: the sale just completed it looks like being £24 per bale, or an average of £23. Allowing for the continuation of increased quantities on the ratio already established and providing the present good prices hold, there is good reason for believing that increased returns to the Dominion will be something over £4,000,060.
