BOYS’ INSTITUTE
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Boys’ Institute and S. A. Rhodes Home for Boys was held on ’l’uesday night, when the following members were present:—Mr. J. Hislop (in the chair). Mrs. J. Bruce Christie. Messrs. C. tS. Moore. G. E. Brown. W. H. Clark, II. Gill, D. J. Dalglish. A. Johnston. W. A. Moir, and Director. The resignation of Mr. S. W. Weblnir was received with regret and the best wishes for his future success were expressed by the committee. The chairman and director’s annual reports showed that the work had grown steadily throughout the past year, and Hie results had been satisfactory, in spite of the lack of adequate accommodation. Arrangements for the Street Day. which is to be held tomorrow, in aid of the building extensions, were discussed. The stalls will be situated at Bowen Street, Kirkcaldie and Stains. G P. 0., Bank of New Zealand, Lambton IB ay; Bank of New Zealand, Cuba Streit; Bouleott Street, and Courtenay Place. With the amount resulting from the street day. combined with what is already in hand towards the building lunu ’t is hoped to be able- to make at least part of the most, urgent extensions immediately. At the close of the meeting appreciation was expressed for gifts received from Messrs. Manion and Goldsmith to wards the Christmas parly, which was held in December.
