AaNN-UAL meeting. Tlie annual meeting of the Wellington Harmonic Society was held last uight, tho lion. IL A. Wright presiding. The report stated that the financial position was still satisfactory, although the year had been rather a strenuous one The society was able to show a balance on the right side after adding £J6 worth of music to the library. At the conclusion of 1927, the society had 58 active members on its roll, an increase of b over the total for 1926.
The report and balance sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected:— Patrons, Their Excellencies the GovernorGeneral and Lady Alice Fergusson; president, the Hon. R. A. Wright; vicepresidents, The Mayor (Mr. G. A. Troup), Bishop Sprott. Archbishop Redwood. Sir 3ohn Luke, Messrs. F. G. Cray, G. Mitehell, O. J. B. Norwood. Robert Parker, U. S. Pope; conductor, Mr. H. Temple White; deputy conductor, Mr. P. Cutforth; hon. secretary anti treasurer, Mr. V. It. Bennett; hon. pianist, Mr. C. Howe: hon librarian, Mrs. V. B. Bennett: committee. Mr. A. R. Orr, Messrs. B. O. Stokes, . 11. F. Ga rdener, B. E. Pumfrey.
