TOURS ABROAD

: HARBOUR BOARD WELCOME TO MEMBERS At last night’s meeting of the Harbour Board, the chairman (Mr. J. G. Cobbe) said it was with sincere pleasure that members welcomed Air. Al. Cohen and Mr. J. G. Harkness on their return from abroad. They were all glad that the former had recovered from his very severe illness. In reply, Mr. Cohen expressed his very deep gratitude to the board for their welcome. He had represented the board at the conference of Port Authorities of the United States at St. Louis, and had received the most distinguished courtesy and attention. Air. Cohen gave some very interesting impressions of his tour of the United States, particularly of tlie port and traffic facilities at San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. Afr. Harkness also returned thanks to members for their welcome, and gave an account of his travels and experiences in America, Britain, and Europe.
