LICENSING BILL

RECONSTRUCTION URGED Dominion Special Service. Christchurch, February 21. "Although the Licensing Bill, as adopted bv the House of Representatives, was’ killed through amendments adopted and insisted upon by Hie Legislative Council, the carrying of the three main issues by such a substantial vote in the Lower House represents a great moral victory. We strongly support the New Zealand Alliance in pressing for the reintroduction of a favourable Licensing Bill next session.” Such was a statement in the report of the Temperance and Public Morals Committee, which was brought before the Methodist Conference to-day. It was decided to set up a committee to go further into the question of reintroduction of a favourable Licensing Bill next session.
