TAW A FLAT DEVIATION
TENDERS FOR MAJOR WORK CLOSE Tenders for the construction of the Tawa Flat railway deviation closed yesterday. . The deviation is approximately seven miles long, and includes the construction of a 'tunnel approximately 2 miles 53 chains in length, and the completion of another tunnel approximately 60 chains long, the bottom heading ot which is at present being driven by separate contract. It will be some weeks before an announcement is made concerning the letting of the major contract.
