SOCCER REFEREES

BADGES AND REGISTER WANTED. Several meetings of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Referees’ Association have been held ot late for the purpose of getting the balance of badges and the referees’ register handed over by the late secretary. Another meeting was held on Monday night, attended by Messrs. W. G. Brice (chairman), L. F. C. Cooper, H, Yeoman, A. .Marlin, C. Kelly, and A. Caisley (secretary). it was stated that nearly all the badges which had been awarded had now been forwarded, and only two were outstanding. These were duo to Auckland. Seven were sent out three weeks ago. Further action was delayed until two members have called upon the late secretary to obtain hiirplus badges, and any books or documents belonging to the association. The revised rules were gone through, and copies are to be sent to the local associations for their approval or recommendations before being Mint to tho New Zealand Council for acceptance. Mr. Yeoman objected to the rules being delayed by waiting for the approval of the New Zealand Council. If they waited for that, he said, it woudl lie a year or more before they would get them back. There had not been a meeting of the council this year, and he did not consider it a very business-like body.
