LAWN TENNIS

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association was held on Monday night. Mr. M. E. F. Airey presided, and there were also present Messrs. G. A. Dawson, M. E. Denniston, AV. G. Morgan, G. F. Penlington, W. Harbison, C. G. Swinburne, F. Cornet, F. W. Reed, and the secretary, Mr. IV. Cobby. Messrs. Airey, W. Harbisoij, G. G. Hodgkins arranged to meet the Canterbury Anthony Wilding Shield team off the Maori on Thursday morning. It was 'Understood that the remainder of the team foi; the interprovincial match would be arriving on Friday. Other details relating to catering, entertainment, and transport were settled. A letter from the N.Z.L.T.A. was received appointing Mr. Goss, of Christchurch, referee of tho matches, but Mr. Goss has now signified his inability to be present. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs. G. A. Dawson, W. Harbison, and F. W. Reed was appointed to investigate all membership resignations and make recommendations to tho committee. It was decided that no inter-club matches would be played on Saturday, and no courts open during tlie progress of the Anthony Wilding Shield matches on Thursday and Friday. Mr. C. G. Swinburne was elected vicechairman in place of Mr. N. A. Foden, resigned.
