A SYDNEY TRAGEDY
FATHER ADMITS KILLING DAUGHTER Sydney, February 20. After an all-night search the police found Green in a suburban park weak ■with the loss of blood from a deep gash in the arm. As they approached he drew a bottle of lysol from his pocket and drank the contents. Before he died an hour later he confessed to having killed Elaine in order to save her from a life of misery. It was reported yesterday that the body of a girl, Elaine Green, was discovered on a vacant piece of land at Marrickville, with the throat fatally cut. The girl’s parents have been living apart. The previous night the father visited the house in a most excited state, and. after a heated discussion with his wife, took the girl away. Later he returned and said that little Elaine was now out of trouble. He produced a razor and a bottle of chlorodyne and said that he would also finish himself. He then disappeared.
