POLICE CASES Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., dealt with police cases in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. , , . Michael John Moran, a labourer, aged 59, who was charged with being found by night without lawful excuse in an enclosed yard, in Dixon Street, and also with the theft of a pair of boots, valued at £1 155., the property of Samuel James Smith, was remanded until this mornA similar remand was granted in the case of Charles Frederick Smith, a sf»man, aged 26, who was charged w Jt, being found by night without lawful excuse in an enclosed shed on railway property at Thorndon. Beter O’Malley, alias Swanson, alias Sawyers, a labourer, aged 45, was fined £5, in default one month’s imprisonment, for a seventh breach of his prohibition order. He was convicted and discharged for his second offence ot drunkenness. A remand until Wednesday was granted in the case of John James Brennan, alias Janies Storrie, alias James Brownlee, a labourer, aged 33, who was charged with obtaining £lO 6s. from Edward Newbigin by means of valueless cheque. Frank Key, a labourer, aged 27, was remanded until this morning for sentence on a charge of stealing a cheque for £5 6s. 6d., the property of Frank Sterne.
