Hall will represent the Carterton Bowling Club in the champion of champions’ contest of the Wairarapa Centre. The committee of the Wairarapa Automobile Association met at Greytown on Thursday night. Eight new members were elected, and one resignation accepted. Attention was drawn to the danger at night of the unattended railway traffic bridge at. Ngawapurua, and it was decided to bring the matter under the notice of the Railway Department. The Pahiatua County Council wrote stating that it recognised the dangerous condition of two bridges on the main highway at Hamua, and as these bridges were on the main highway, the council could not undertake the work at its own will, but had to await the pleasure of the Main Highways Board. The council had brought the matter under the notice of the board, urging immediate action fo safeguard users of the road. The association also decided to bring the matter under the notice of the board. It was decided to go into the matter of suitable uniforms for men employed by the association at various public gatherings. Tt was decided to procure 1(100 water transfers of the association badge. Mr. J. W. Milner was appointed canvasser for the association, and Mr. .W. IT. Jackson, representative on the Wairarapa Progress League. Speedometer tost posts are to be erected o nthe CartertonMasterton Road for a distance of throe miles. Tt was decided to write to a bus proprietary, asking that a fence damaged on the Rimufaka TTili bo renaired. A dangerous corner at the junction of Wnl'oTson’s Lino with Swamn Road, is fo be inspected with n view of haring obscuring trees chopped back.
