BY TELBGBAPH.—PfiESS ASSOCIATION. Christchurch, February 20. 'l'lie Methodist Conference was continued to-day, but the great part of the business was taken in committee. The Theological College Council as composed last year was re-elected with one alteration. The Rev. W. J. Elliott was elected to the council. Dr. Laws was reappointed as principal of the college until 1931, and Dr. Ranston was designated as his successor. It was decided that Dr. Ranston go to England to studv college methods before he take over the principalship. After a lengthy discussion on a proposal that the general secretary of the Y’ount People’s Department, the Rev. E. P. Blannres, should attend the World Sunday School Convention at Los Angeles in July, Mr. Blamires was granted permission to from the '/he conference received a deputation from the Now Zealand Alliance, which submitted a statement, of its policy in connection with ibis year’s licensing poll. The deputation was received in committee.
