Sir,—One result of 'the Prayer Book controversy is that it is leading many to search into the bedrock of what is what, and the Bishop of Manchester at Ins recent Diocesan Conference stated: “We have a return to the true teaching of the Church of England on the Ministry and Sacraments—they must come to the conclusion that not only a Free Church minister, but any layman, who should devoutly, but not defiantly, decide that it was right for him to celebrate the Holy Communion, would effect a real consecration, and through it the real gilt would be given.” Il is along such lines (bat we may hope to see a coming together of the Protestant Churches for a unity, though not necessarily a uniformity leading to what Bishop Knox said "A consolidation of Protestantism.”—l am. etc., FRED 11.
