A. E. COOKE AND SOUTH AFRICA Notification that A. E. Cooke, the famous Wairarapa inside back, is not now available for the All Blacks’ South African tour, has been received by the New Zealand Rugby Union. The question of filling Cooke’s place has been referred to the chairman of the selection committee, and the name of the man chosen to fill Cooke’s place is expected to be announced at the next meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union.
