Meteorological Office. Wellington, February 19, 4 p.m. A slight low-pressure wave passed eastward of the South Island during Sunday morning. Disturbances are still situated off the “ central East Coast of Australia. Forecast: Southerly winds. Moderate generally, but fresh at times in the Cook Strait region. Winds later backing to easterly north of New Plymouth and Napier; generally moderate seas in New Zealand waters. Moderate to strong cast to south-east winds and rough seas in the Tasman Sea. Weather cloudy to overcast generally, with scattered showers, heavy ' at places in the East Coast district.
