POST AND TELEGRAPH PROMOTION BOARD

RESULT OF OFFICERS’ ELECTION. In accordance with the regulations under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1918, a postal ballot was held on February 15 for the purpose of electing to the Post and Telegraph Promotion Board a representative of the officers of the Department. The candidates for election were Mr. H. M. Patrick, acting supervisor, Public Service Garage, Wellington, and Mr. E. A. Thompson, clerk, Telegraph Office, Wellington. The result of the election was as under:— Patrick, H. M 2841 Thompson, E. A 2602 Informal 28 Majority for Mr. Patrick 239 Mr. Patrick succeeds Mr. L. L. Hills, of Wellington, who did not seek reelection. Mr. Hills has been the elected member of the board for the last six years, The Promotion Board consists of the Secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department (Mr. G. McNamara), the Chief Telegraph Engineer (Air. A. Gibbs), the First Assistant Secreary (Mr. J. Robertson), the Second Assistant Secretary (Air. Al. B. Esson), and the elective member (Mr. Patrick).
