MEETING OF ELECTORS’ ASSOCIATION. It was reported at the monthly meeting of the Island Bay Municipal Electors’ Association that the Civic League, at tlie instance of the association and others, had taken up with the city an. thorities tlie question of tlie neglected condition of some of the wood-blocked streets in the city. With periodical tar-scaling it was stated the life of these surfaces could be indefinitely lengthened, but if allowed to continue in their present unattended state repair would soon be a costly matter, if not altogether impossible. Applications for additional street lamps on the Esplanade west beach, and in Severn Street north, were approved by the City Council. Street improvement in Seiwyn Street north ia also being sought.
