METHODIST CONFERENCE

NEW MINISTERS ADMITTED. BY Teleciiapu Press >•moiuation Christchurch, February 17. At the Methodist Conference to-day, the Rev. L. B. Neale moved that the conference early in its session appoint a committee, including departmental officers of the Church, to consider the best method of consolidating and ex tending Methodism throughout the Dominion, the committee to give attention to such matters as establishments of secondary schools, training of religious educational instructors, subsidising aggression in circuit movements, and district extensions and augmentation of ministerial stipends. The motion was carried, a large committee being set up. On the recommendation of the Examination Committee, eight students were received for theological training The following were admitted as ministers in full connection with the conference:—Moses Ayrton, John Bailey, Hubert G. Brown, Herbert L. Fribeg, Harrv S. King, Robert McGregor, Olive'r S. H. Peam, Herbert Spencer, end Cecil Tavlor. It was decided that ten preachers remain on probation. The following were received bv the conference on probation:—.Tohti D. Grocott. C. A. Hailwood, F. J. Hardv, F. H. Tlavman, and H. H. Jeffreys.' Two Maori preachers were admitted as Native ministers.

It was resolved that the conference be recommended to appoint a district house missionary committee to consider church extension in Auckland city and suburbs.
