AGREEMENTS TO TERMINATE WAGES TO BE REDUCED AND HOURS EXTENDED (Rec. February 15, 7.50 p.m.) London, February 14. “The Times” Manchester correspondent says a sensation has been caused in the cotton industry by the master spinners’ decision to the existing hours and wa'gH agreements, insisting on a 124 per cent, wages reduction and an extension of four hours weekly, applicable to mills spinning American cotton. The Egyptian section, using a finer yarn, refused to participate.—“ The Times.” “STOPPAGE INEVITABLE” (Rec. February 15, 7.50 p.m.) London, February 14. The “Financial News” understands that the cotton spinners intend to post a month’s notice of a reduction of wages, and adds: “If the demand is pressed it will certainly be resisted and a stoppage is inevitable.”
