The engine, which is of 30 horse power, housed in a firenroof compartment, separating it from the. chart-room and sleeping onarters. and is capable of lodging 10 knots per hour. It has a selfemptying cockpit, a marked improvement on vessels not so eoiupncd. It is provided with electric light throughout. There is sleeping accommodation for two men aboard, the bunks being for'ard.
