TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST
Meteorological Office, Wellington, February 14, 4 p.m. Both the anti-cyclone centred east of the North Island and the cyclone off the central East Coast of Australia have intensified, otherwise there is little change in pressure distribution. Winds light to moderate northerlies north of New Plymouth and Napier, elsewhere moderate to strong north to west, later backing to southerly. Generally moderate seas in New Zealand waters, but rather rough in Cook and bouveaux Straits and between Castlepoint and Kaikoura. Strong north-east to southeast winds to gale and rising seas in noithern and cential Ta/?--man Sea. Weather warm and sultry generally, cloudy at times, with some light isolated showers south of New Plymouth and Napier. The prospects are still favourable for more general rain within the next few days. ,
