AMATEUR ATHLETICS
MEETING OF CENTRE. At a meeting of the Wellington centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association last night, Mr. A. O. Kitto presided. It was agreed that more restriction should be exercised iu the giving of free passes to trainers. Permission was granted the University Club to hold an inter-faculty tournament in conjunction with a scratch Dewar Shield meeting on Marell 17. the meeting being graded into A, B and 0 grades, with all field events handicaps. Several applications to hold meetings were granted, one from the Petone Club for February 22; another from the Port Nicholson Amateur Road Cycling Club for a teams’ race with field events on Wednesday. February 29. while a rough draft submitted by the Petone Amateur Athletic and Cycling .Club of their programme prepared for a meeting on Atarcli 7. was approved. This meeting is to be of two hours' duration as the result of an agreement with the Hutt Valley Power Board, and will b« the first electrio light meeting held in the Hutt Valley.
