MR. AMERY’S RETURN
.from empire tour London, February 12. A terrific gale at Liverpool delayed Mr. Amerv’s landing from the Montdare, which should have arrived at mid-day yesterday, but was storm-toss-' ed outside. She docked at 8 this morning. Mr. Amery declined to be interviewed. He said that he preferred to make a considered review of his Empire tour in the presence of the whole Press at the Dominions Oifice. He admitted conversationally that the tour had been a tonic to one’s faith in the Empire, notably in Australia and New Zealand, where he had a most delightful time, enjoying their proverbial hospitality. (Rec. February 13, 10.10 p.m.) London, February 13. The New Zealand High Commissioner Sir James Parr, and party, with the Agents-General and many friends, welcomed Air. Amery and Airs. Amerv at Euston station. Air. Amery will be the guest at a banquet arranged by the Empire Parliamentary Association. NEED OF PRACTICAL POLICY London, February 12. The “Daily Express” editorially, expresses the hope that Air. Amery has not been too busily engaged imparting instructiqn to the Dominions to receive none in ryturn. “The tour will be of little use from the Imperial standpoint unless he brings back a decided preference for action over talk. While the wavs of filling up the Dominions with Britishers are endlessly debated and written about, a practical continuance policy is still wanted. Ihe value of Mr." Amerv’s peregrinations will be judged by. what he does to forward this necessity.” . ,
