ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of (ho Royal Wellington Choral Union states that the honorary subscribers at the close of the year totalled 378, thus maintaining the standard aimed at by the committee. Performing members added to the roll during the year numbered 40, and after allowing for resignations, the roll number now stood at 265. The work oi the orchestra during the season under review had been particularly arduous, and congratulations were extended to all concerned on the high standard attained, especially in the “.Aida" performance. Luring the season the following works were performed: “St. Paul" (Mendelssohn), “Cavalleria Kusticana” (Mascagni). “.Aida” (Verdi), “The Messiah" (Handel.” At the performances during the season the following artists took the principal parts:—Mesdamcs Andrews, I eige, Porter, and Ramsey, Misses Mina Cnldow, Kato Campion, Nora Grerne, Teresa McEnroe, and Naomi V\ bailey. Messrs. T.en. Barnes, Claude Batten. Hubert Carter. Barry Coney. Harison Cook, Edwin Bennis. Ernest McKinlay. William AVatters. and Thomas C. Wood. One new work was added to the library during the year, “St. Paul” (Mendelssohn), at a cost of .£66 ss. Id. Notwithstanding the general depression experienced throughout the Dominion, the finances of the society had been well maintained. The balance-sheet showed a surplus of assets over liabilities of .£1631 9s. _
