LEVEL CROSSING SMASH

YOUNG CHINESE INJURED. Dominion Special Service. Auckland, February 13. Tomatoes, cabbages and many other vegetables were sent flying in all directions at Te Papapa this morning when a train from Onehunga to Auckland collided with a motor-van in which there were three Chinese. Passengers on the train state that the engine of the moter vehicle appeared to stall on the railway crossing. One of the Chinese, Chan On, aged 23, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital with a compound fracture of the left leg. The other two Chinese jumped clear. The motor vehicle was smashed to pieces. The train, after a delay of ten minutes, proceeded on its journey to Auckland.
