OBJECTION TO REVUE
IMPERSONATION OF PRINCE OF WALES London, February 9. The “Daily Mail” says that the Lord Chamberlain has ordered an inquiry, following complaints about a revue staged in a Midland town, in which the comedian is appearing as the Prince of Wales, grotesque in dress and deportment. During a burlesque of the inspection of a liner’s crew he made vulgar and ridiculous remarks. The Lord Chamberlain’s office states that the impersonation of living members of the Royal Family is not permitted. The revue, when submitted for a license did not contain the objectionable passage, the interpolation of which renders the parties liable to a prosecution.—Sydney “Sun” Cable.
