SINGAPORE BASE
TENDERS INVITED FOR DOCKS (Rec. February 10, 8.20 p.m.) London, February 9. The Government has invited several firms to tender before March 31 for the construction of a wet and a dry dock at the Singapore base. The cost, four millions sterling, will be partly borne by the Dominions, covering a period of seven years. There will be a separat contract for armament and workshops, which will not be begun until the above work is fully under way.—Sydney “Sun” Cable.
