PRISONER ESCAPES

4— SEARCH BEING MADE. BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. Te Awemutu, February 10. An inmate of the Borstal Institute at Waikeria named Darrel Barnaby escaped on Wednesday night from a camp on Korakonui Road, taking with him a daik bay pony mare, a bridle, and a length of rope. Barnaby is 24 years of age? sft. 7in. in height, slight of build, with a fresh complexion. He has brown hair blue eves, and a scar on the ngnt side of his chin. He was wearing blue denim trousers, a black cloth regulation coat, and probably a cap, and heavy nailed boots. Barnaby has a knowledge of motor-cars, as on a previous escape from a southern institution he stole a car The staff from Waikeria and the police are conducting a search. They have found no trace so far, but believe that he has made into the King Country.
