STAFF PICNIC

Tlie annual picnic of the staff of Cadbury# and Frys (N.Z.), Ltd. was held on Monday last at Titalii Bay, and fine weather ensured a purteularly enjoyable outing. Egg and spoon race (men), T. Costello 1, F. Hodgson 2. Egg uud Spoon race (ladies), Miss Stevens ~1. Miss Robinson 2. ICO vards race (men), 0. Fittes 1. 11. Christemsen 2. 50 yards race (ladies), Miss Mullan 1, Miss Robinson 2. Thread-the-Needle race, Miss Mullan and C. Fittes. Novelty race, Mrs. Duncan and C. Sura, tlopement race, Miss Stevens and C. Fittes. Potato race (men), 0. Fittes Potato race (lades), Mrs. Bell. Relay race, Fittes’s team. Old Men’s race, A. Macklin. The first annual staff picnic of J. 0. Riddell and Co.. Ltd. was held at Titahi Bay on Saturday under ideal weather conditions, and was a great success, about thirty people making the trip by Ims. Several races wera run during the afternoon. A novel event was the wheel harrow race, in which wooden wheels were used. Prizes and cups were presented at the close of the day by Mr. Riddell. Both cups were won by the workshop staff, one being for most points and the oilier for the tug-of-war. which they easily won.
