ROYAL SHOW
TO BE HELD IN THE AUTUMN. Dominion Special Service. Christchurch, February 8. Recently the Koval Acrmuitiiral Society sought the opinion of Agricultural and I'astoral Associations all over the Dominion as to the holding of the Royal Show in the autumn or in the spring, and the replies favoured an autumn show. Thorqfore the Royal Society decided to hold it show in tlie autumn. The suggestion was then made that Canterbury should carry on as usual with its spring show and allow tho Royal Show to take place in its grounds in the autumn. At a meeting of the general committee of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association a deputation representing the Royul Agricultural Society and consisting of Messrs. W. Perry (Mastorton), J. Knight (Feilding), W. D, Hunt (Wellington). and J. A. Johnstone (Dunedin) waited on the eomniitte. to discuss tlie matter. The following motion was carried:— "That, subject to a suitable date, and satisfactory liiriueial arrangements, tlie association support and held the Royal Society to bold a, show in (lie autumn, charging it nominal fee of ,t;tO ids. a. day. provided the association is indemnified against damage."
