To prevent dust accumulating behind pictures and staining the walls, fix a small piece of cork at each bottom corner on the back of the picture. This will keep it away from the wall, and will not give the dust a chance to collect. A test to determine whether other fats have been added to butter is to smear a little on a piece of white notepaper, roll it up, and set it on fire. If the butter is pure, the odour is quite pleasant; if impure, the tallowy smell is unmistakable.
