PAVED ROADS FOR EASTBOURNE

A START ON MONDAY A start is to be made on Monday with the paving of the road from Day’s Bay to Eastbourne, and also the road which leads to the main Eastbourne road from the ferry wharf at Rona Bay. At present the paved road which goes through Day’s Bay only extends as far south as the boundary between the Hutt County and Eastbourne Borough. Further south the road has been widened slightly, at what was its narrowest part, and a concrete revetment built just above high-water mark to hold the extra width of road provided. The width of the paved roadway in Eastbourne will be 18ft.
