Cabled advice has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Co. that the llerminlus left Balboa on Sunday evening for Auckland, en route from Antwerp with a cargo of basic slag. The vessel is due at Auckland on February 28. NEW SHAW-SA ILL BOATS. Specially designed tor service between New Zealand and the United Kingdom, the new Shnw, Savill. and Albion motorship Taranaki was launched from the yards of the Fairfield Shipbuilding and "Engineering Co. at Govan on December 10. She is a twin-screw vessel of 11.190 tons dead-weight. Her dimensions are:— Length 500 ft.. breadth 64ft.. depth to upper dock 42ft. lOJln. The refrigerating machinery by J. and E. Hull. Limited. Dartford, is situated on the tipper nnd second decks, and consists of two duplex electrically-driven refrigerating machines. No. 6 hold and 'tween dorks provide capacity for carrying general cargo. Four, two. or throo-bertli staterooms 'are situated in a saloon bouse at the forward end of the bridge thick. The propelling machinery consists of twin sets of Fnlr-lield-Sulzor engines, each having six cylinders 31in. in diameter by 431 n. stroke. The Huddart-Parker Company's intercolonial passenger steamer Uiimaroa arrived in the stream a't Wellington at 6 o'clock yesterday morning from Sydney direct. Pratique was granted, and the ship berthed at No. 2 Queen's Wharf at 9 a.m. The Uiimaroa left Sydney at noon on Friday, and had afinc-weather run across the Tasman. Cabled news has been received by the G. and D. Line that the Port Hardy arrived at London on Sunday from Auckland. via New York. Boston, and Halifax. The vessel left Auckland on December 16. MIDDLESEX DUE SUNDAYThe New Zealand Shipping Company report that the Middlesex will leave Auckland on Friday afternoon for Wellington. in continuation $f her voyage from London. The vessel is due at Wellington on Sundav. ARAWA TO LOAD. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advise that their liner Arawa arrived at Dunedin at 8 a.m yesterday from Lyttelton. to complete discharge of her Liverpool cargo, and to commence loading for London. The vessel will afterwards go to Port Chalmers. and is to leave that port on Saturday, to load at Lvttelton. Bluff, Timaru. Napier, Waikokopu, and Wellington. The Arawa is due at Wellington on February 28. and is to sail finally from here at 6 a.m. on March 2 for Southampton and London, via Panama.

THE NORTHUMBERLAND. The New Zealand Shipping Company received news yesterday from Napier stating, that it was doubtful whether the Northumberland would leave that port before noon to-day for Wellington. ROTORUA LEAVES PANAMA. The New Zealand Shipping Company have been notified by cablegrjvm that their liner Rotorua, arrived at Colon on Saturday last from London and (Southampton." and left Panama on Sunday for Wellington and Auckland. The vessel is due at Wellington on February 25. THE, CITI’ OF BATH. The A. and A. Line chartered steamer Citv of Bath left Auckland at daybreak vesterday for Wellington, in continuation of her voyage from New York. The vessel is due at Wellington to-morrow morning. THE IKALA. The New Zealand Shinning Comnany have been advised by cablevram that the Iknla arrived at Hampton Roads on Saturday from St. John, en route to New Zealand and Australian ports. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. . The Wingatui will be recommissioned at Auckland to-day, in command of Captain A. B. Sizer. His deck officers are as follow: Chief, Mr. E. A. Cox; fMend, Mr. D. Luckett: third. Mr. A. L. WilkmS °Mr. O. H. M. Long has relieved Mr. J. Warcup ns chief officer of the Kittawa. The latter officer is on holidays at Lyttelton. . , x. . i Mr. L. P. The Kaituna is being placed m commission at Auckland 'to-day, and ia in command of Captain W. II D. Gardner. His deck officers are the following: Chief officer Mr. F. G. Mabb; second officer, Mr. D. J. R. McKenzie: third officer. Mr. C. H. Vincent.

MISCELLANEOUS. ' The Kurow is to leave Auckland tomorrow for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. The Wingatui will now -eave Auckland to-day for Portland, to load cement for Wellington and Lyttelton, in place of the Kaimanawa. The Kamona is to load at Dunedin tomorrow for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Kaponga will leave here to-day for Westport, and the Komata will leave here to-morrow for the same ports. Both vessels will load for Wellington. The Kahika is due here to-morrow from the south, and will go on to Napier and Gisborne. The Kairnai will leave here to-day for Greymouth, to load for Wellington. The Calm, from Bluff, via ports, is now due here on Sunday, and will leave on Monday for Picton and Wanganui. From Nelson and New Plymouth, the Corinna is due here on Friday, and will go on to southern ports. The Storm is due here to-morrow from Wanganui, and will leave later in the day for the Sounds. The Gale, from Dunedin, via ports, is due here to-morrow, and will go on to Wanganui. The Progress, from Port Waikato, is due here to-morrow, and will leave on Friday for southern ports. The Putiki will now leave Wellington to-day for Nanier and Gisborne. The John, due here to-day from Lyttelton. will go on to New Plymouth and Port Waikato. The Holmdale is now due here ro-day from southern ports, and will leave toliorrow for Wanganui.
