QUEEN UNABLE TO ATTEND OPENING Rugby, February 6. It was announced from Buckingham Palace this afternoon that as (he Queen has lately been suffering from cold, it is considered inadvisable that Her Majesty should attend the State opening of Parliament to-morrow.—British Official Wireless.

To-day will be the first occasion since King George’s accession that Queen Marv has not attended the opening of Parliament. Her absence has created a problem regarding the conduct of the ceremonial proceedings. The authorities eventually decided to remove the Consort’s Throne from the House of Lords on this occasion.
