Washington, February 6.
A high point of interest in the Presidential campaign probably will be reached in a few days, when two of the most prominent aspirants will openly enter the field. Mr. Hoover, filing his name in nine States in the so-called Primaries where delegates to the National Convention are chosen, and offices on behalf of Governor Smith, will be op.ened here and in Virginia. Dlr. Hoover’s move is for the purpose of consolidating his great popular support and to frustrate his enemies, who have been working sub rosa against his nomination. Governor Smith's efforts art. looked upon as an attempt to face the religious issue in the Southern States, where the former strength of the Ku Khix Klan and the Roman Catholic question are likely to give him the greatest difficulty.
