filtered water. The Auckland City Council lias just accepted the tender of Candy Filters (N.Z.) Ltd. for the third installation of this company’s well-known filters for the Huia Water Supply Scheme for the City of Auckland. This latest installation will deal with 8,000,000 gallons of water per diem, and provides for additional plant capable, when required, of filtering 28,000,000 gallons per diem. Previous installations of Candy Filters by this well-known company to the Auckland City Council were in connection with the citv water supply from the Nihotuixi and Waitakere Plants, which have a combined capacity of 11,000,000 gallons per diem. Apart from large municipal installations, Candy Filters are used for a variety of purposes—especially in connection with the purification of water for the dairying industry and hospials.—Advt.
