(eating), and lOd. Ib. (cooking); Cape gooseberries are 1/- Ib.; greengages are Sd. and lOd. lb.; plums are 4d. to fid. lb. (eating), and 4(1. lb. (cooking); apricots are sd. and (Id. lb. (cooking), and 8(1. and 1/- lb. (eating); tomatoes are 4d., (Id., 1/- Ib.; peaches Bd. to 1/- lb. (eating), and sd. and (Id. Ib. (cooking); cherries are 1/6 to 2/lb.; pineapples are 1/6 to 2/6 each; grape fruit are 6d. and Bd. each, eating apples are 6d. and Bd. lb.; dessert pears are 4d., 6d„ and Bd. lb.; lemons are 1/6 to 3/- doz.; oranges are 3/- and 4/- doz.; raspberries are 2/6 per box: passion fruit are 2/- doz. N.Z. grapes are 1/8 to 3/- Ib.; watermelons 6d. lb. Groceries.—New laid eggs are now 2/2 dozen; good table butter is 1/6 lb., and pure whey butter is 1/3 lb. Cooked ham is 2/2 and 2/6 lb.; prunes are 6d. lb.; salmon is 6d. and 1/8 tin; mild cheese is lid. and 1/ib.; matured cheese is 1/- and 1/4 lb.; N.Z. Stilton cheese is 3/- Ib.; condensed milk is (Id. and 1/- per tin; dates are Bd. packet, and 4d. Ib. loose. Sugar is 16/6 for a 701 b. bag: bulk honey and clover honey sell at lOd. lb.; rice, sago, barley and tapioca are all 3d. Ib. Spanish muscatels are 1/6 per packet, and Californian muscatels 1/10 per packet. Turkish figs are 1/- lb.
