SUMMER FLOWERS

ONSLOW SHOW The Onslow Horticultural and Beautifying Society had q very successful mid-summer show at the Public Hall, Kbaudallah. uu Saturday. Despite the unusually dry season there was a splendid display ot flowers aud vegetables, principally gladioli, roses, and sweet peas. Over 560 entries were received, in many instances the judges commented upon the high quality of the exhibits. A feature of the show was the magnificent display of gladioli staged by Alcssrs. J. J. Jackson aud Son, A'ogellown, and Air. G. Billey, of Normuudalc, Lower Hutt; also general displays ot cut flowers staged by Alesdames Vlimmer ami Balliam. Alcssrs. Christie and Burke displayed fine collections of gladioli remarkable for size, eiilour and beautiful texture. Tho following acted as judges:—Flowers and vegetables, Air. J.
