“AMPLE FOB DOMESTIC PURPOSES."
"The pressure is insufficient to provide my house with a trickle,” said a Heretaunga resident, in a communication to the Upper Hutt Borough Council last night, complaining of the water supply to his residence. “The position at present is that the boiler in the range may bo burnt cut. We have to carry water from a stream cn my property, from which I had an adequate supply by means of. a ram before I was induced to scrap this system and take the I>orough water supplv. I shall be glad of an explanation why "there is no pressure of water whatever at my house.” The borough foreman stated that he had visited the house that afternoon, and had found an adequate supply for household purposes Referring to tlie borough water simply in general, the Mayor (Mr. P. Robertson) said the svsfem had been designed for domestic purposes onlv. 'lbev had not enough pressure for fire fighting purposes, however, when everyone was drawing together.
