WANGANUI NOTES
Wanganui, February 6
Charged with the theft of a roast of pork, valued at 55., Edward Stephen McAnulty, who appeared before Mr. Barton, S.M., today, was convicted, ami ordered to come up for sentence if called upon. He was also prohibited, and ordered to pay the value of the meat.
Members of the Wanganui Wool Brokers’ Association assembled this morning to bid bon voyage to the chairman (Mr. F. Moffatt), who will leave this week as a member of the New Zealand bowling party for England. Mr. 11. S. Macev, who presided, paid a tribute to the popularity of Mr. Moffatt both as a bowler and business man. As chairman of the Wanganui Wool Brokers’ Association Mr. Moffatt had been a tower of strength, and was always ready to advance the interests of the local association. On behalf of the members of the association, he presented him with a fountain pen and pencil, suitably inscribed, and wished him an enjoyable trip and safe return. Mr. Moffatt suitably replied. The weekly Rotarv Club luncheon was held to-day. Rotarian J. Conll presided over a good attendance. The speaker for the occasion was Mr R. G Taiboys, who delivered an address on architecture. The speaker dealt exhaustively with his subject, and sub mitted numerous plans, showing the various aspects of a building under construction.
